Trang An tourist atrraction: A must-visit place for first-time travelers to Ninh Binh
Trang An Ecotourism Area is an ecotourism area located within the Trang An World Heritage Complex in Ninh Binh province . It has been classified by the Vietnamese Government as a particularly important national monument and recognized by UNESCO as a dual world heritage site since 2014. Trang An, with its system of limestone mountain ranges dating back approximately 250 million years, has, over time, weathered by the Earth's transformations, climate, sea level rise and fall, resulting in hundreds of valleys, caves, and lakes. This scenic spot is a place that preserves and contains many ecosystems of mangrove forests, forests on limestone mountains, archaeological sites, and historical and cultural relics. [ 1 ] The system of mountains, streams, forests, and caves in Trang An is very rugged, so King Dinh Tien Hoang chose it as the southern citadel to protect the capital Hoa Lu in the 10th century, and later the Tran Dynasty used it as the Vu Lam royal palace during the resistance against the Yuan-Mongol invasion. Currently, there are still many historical relics from the Dinh and Tran dynasties.
The Trang An – Tam Coc – Bich Dong – Hoa Lu ancient capital – Hoa Lu special-use forest complex is now planned as part of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex , becoming the first dual world heritage site in Vietnam with outstanding values in natural landscape, cultural history and geological formation, and is also a place that is being invested in to become an international-class tourist area.
